Which nail polish color?

I have golden-brown skin and it's quite difficult to find a nail-polish colour matching to my skin..

any advice??Which nail polish color?
never go for shimmers or bronzed type.Always go for matt colors.

Red is great... matching or contrasting outfits also is fantastic. But you never go wrong with basic red.
Go bold. I love vibrant shades such as fire red, purple, orange %26amp; royal blue.

in summer i think bright colors like coral are good...i like blood red in the winter though!
blood red is going to make you look more pale, go with something softer like a french manicure

My all-time favorite was Vamp by Chanel, but it is no more. Other than that, I don't really have one particular color that I like. I change them around, depending on my mood.

to look tan either go with a neon color- purple yellow pink or green, or go with a pastel- light light pink, almost gray, light red or off white. thats whats popular for fall.
Since school is almost about to start (some places it has already started) so you should get a more fall colors and not summer colors. So i would just get a plain french. =)

Doesnt matter on the length of your nails. I have always liked gold or any metalic. I think black would be too Goth, but a purple might be ok, depending how much purple is in your dress.

A neutral color. You don't want your nails fighting your dress for attention.
black, only if your nails are super short and filed though, if your nails are long, youll look like your goth, or like you have witch fingers, what i do with black though, since it chips, is go to a nail place, any, it doesnt matter, and tell them you want an verlay of acrylic, and to cut and file your nails short first. The acrylic on your nail will help the black nail polish last a LOOOONG time.

I would say a light emerald green or a coral pink to match the oputfit, a blue would be too much with the blue and black and a hot pink or neon coulour would be way too bright, you should choose your favourite colour exept lighter or maybe a light coulour with white liottle toothpick dots!:):)

I would say a light red, more like a pink colour or a light purple or yellow. Pretty much any light colour, not to anything dark. I prefer the brand called OPI, which has a lot of neat colours. They are sold at Caryl Baker Visage( a make-up store).

Yes I've tried them and it's hard to keep them still and in a straight line! I like wearing a nude color with light sparkles in it, or try wearing clear with pink sparkles!! That would be pretty and it would still have some pink in it for your boyfriend :-)

For chipping, I suggest bottom coat, two coats of red, and top coat of some kind of sealer. Basically all the things they would do when you get a manicure, except you're doing it at home.

Right now my favorite OPI nail Polish is ';Do You Lilac It'; and its from their Bright Colors Collection and its a really pretty summer color.

It really just depends on what kind of color your looking for, but OPI is the best nail polish in my opinion. I'd also check out there Paige Denim Collection they really bright pretty summer colors love the whole collection.

you should try shades of pink i usually hold the color up to my skin to see how it looks with my skin color because some colors seem to look bad with my skin. Ive never been able to pull off anything red because my skin has a red tone to it.

Why? %26amp; Solution or Prevention! Also ';Air Pocket';...

Also ';Center'; lifting or lifting in the center of the Pink nail-body

Cause 1: Cuticle ball of acrylic product was too dry, or the primer had dried. When the nail-body area of the fingernail is too dry, the acrylic product will not flow properly, into the ';Hills %26amp; Valleys'; you made when you Etched the fingernail. This can also cause lifting.

Cause 2: Cuticle area gets little air bubbles in the acrylic product. This can be caused by patting; most commonly these little bubbles are caused by not stroking properly.

Note: Although you may at times need to poke gently at the pink acrylic product on the nail-body of the nail-bed; Tammy always stresses ';stroking'; of the ';Pink';, and if the consistency is correct, you should not have to poke at the pink.

Note 2: When you have to poke or move the ';pink'; acrylic product with your brush, the ';pink'; acrylic product was applied too dry; consistency is the key.

Cause 3: When stroking with a brush that has product clogged in the hairs, the product in the rush hairs can create a type of suction. This suction action result is similar to patting.

Air Pocket: When a Nail Technician is really fast at applying acrylic nails, they MUST be very aware of the temperature of their liquid, and of the air flow in the Salon. Doing acrylic nails quickly, and not paying attention to consistency can cause air pockets underneath the Pink acrylic product on the nail-body.

I'm in a wedding this coming weekend (the 17th). Our dresses are a taffeta material in the color wine. There is also a bow in a chocolate brown (I'll post a link). I'm wearing brown shoes with silver jewelry. What color nail polish would go with this? I don't know if a dark maroon would be too much and I don't want brown. I would say avoid the really dark colors, like maroon, dark blue or purple, black.... the light colors look best with fair skin like pink, pearl, pale purple....

I personally prefer the pinks myself. I use Petite's Plum Frost. basically all bright colors would look good on your skin like coral, pink, bright orange, or any other colors...try to stay away from dark color like black and maroon because they wouldn't look as good on your skin...

black satin because it makes you look mature, goes with everything, and stands out. and it makes your fingers look nice and long. and it looks kinda cool and rocker-ish when it starts chipping, so you don't have to take it off right away.

Mine is an OPI color. Its is called '; Really I'm not a waitress';. Ironically I am a waitress. Its is a dark shiny kinda of deep red and deep maroon. I have worn this color for years.
OPI has great shades. Sally Hansen is good as well. Cheaper too.

definetely french polish. i have short nails and have mine french as you can create the illusion of them being longer than they are with the white line.
I never do the tips and I get a french manicure. They brush it onto my real nails. Go for that.
It is best to get a shade that is flattering to your skin tone, especially on your toenails. It is hard to match anything and you don't want to be head to toe one shade. It would be too much. if you have a darker skin tone, a shade of a brownish plum or mauve is most flattering and tasteful. if all else fails, a classic shade of red works for everyone.PS: I would recomend that you not get fake nails, it sounds like you have difficulty growing your own as it is. your nail length is a good length to start with. If you do decide to get fake nails, make sure you can close your hand in a fist to test that they are not to long for a beginner such as yourself.
For a while dress make it a bright color, like light pink, or light blue, I would either do light pink, silver, or violet.
NOT silver..It will wash out your hands and feet! Do something that POPS! You have a white dress, so paint them deep pink, red, or even spring peach...get a purse that has those colors in them...have fun...be safe.

you can get a french mani without fake nails. as long as the nail people are good, they can do it on yuor natural nails, no matter how short. fake ones do hurt at first, but it goes away in about a day or so. besides that, sine you arent used to longer nails, you dont wanna be fumbling around when holding stuff at your prom. if you go fake, get them pretty short. as for the toes, silver sounds good maybe the design on your toes could have some red in it if you want a ';pop'; of color.
acrylics do look nice but when you decide to stop doing them your natural nails will be a mess.

since your dress is white, then you can choose whatever nailpolish colour you like. i would match the colour to my lipstick or eyeshadow. or else go for a neutral colour.

French Manicure is the best for every occasion. You don't have to get false nails or anything just have them paint your natural nails and your toes with a natural, pinkesh base color with white tips. Can't go wrong.

I think a nice neutral skin tone will look great. It will match anything and elongate your nails. They will look healthy and cute. If you want color you could with with the dark trend. Not black but a black red or black purple (red is classic and purple is a comlimentary color to green). It will look like your not trying to be matchy matchy which is great.

Last resort... ivory with shimmer (not sparkle). Its the fall to color!!
Silver would be ok or a french manicure { they also have do it yourself kits for French manicures}.

It depends on what type of green, if its a natural, earthy green, I would even go as far as a deep, sparkly brown. If its more of a teal or something, I would keep it simple with a french manicure. or pearl.

Yes girl. I am here to help. You need to take a look at OPI, stat. They have a whole line of lighter colors. They're all wedding themed. Don't try anything else. Just go to the nearest store that has OPI. I have one called Sweet something, I can't remember and their website. But take a look around. And, you need to get some Drip Dry by OPI it will make it try so fast. You just drop it on your nails with a little dropper. We used that when I was in cosmetology school and it's amazingggg. This is the hardest colour in my opinion to find. Some have such horrible consistency or opacity once they dry! The best ones that I have found are quite inexpensive and readily available. I have had the best luck with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear. Vanilla Bean #04 is the lightest and most opaque colour but absolutely beautiful. It is a soft creme with a hint of pink which flatters most skin tones. First Blush #05 is also beautiful but slightly more of a baby pink undertone. For a more salon level brand I would try Essie in Sugar Daddy. It is more sheer than the others mentioned, but universally flattering (and chosen as the unanimous celebrity favorite!) Good luck on the hunt for the perfect polish! Hopefully this was helpful!
if you need or want to do two different colours for the weddings sally hanson insta-dri is great, i've put two coats on in 5 minutes and it lasted almost 24hr with no chipping(no top or bottom coat, either). just something to consider ;)

(just DON'T go with the mayline fast drying ones, they chip SUPER fast!)

Why not try checkered fingernails with the blue and pink? Those take a bit longer though, but they look cool. If you want a girly color, color your fingernails with purple and use pink for the french tips. Blue seems the best to go with the flower. Put the flower on the thumbs/big toes. Either one since they both look good~

I think you would look great in yellow. It would be a nice contrast from your skin color. Someone suggested gold, and this is just my personal opinion but I think gold might blend in with your skin tone a little too much, and the edges wouldn't be clear enough so it might look a tad messy. Depends on what type of gold though :) You would also look fantastic in deep red or gray. Goodluck :)

hi, i have my homecoming this weekend but im not sure what color nail polish to go with! i was thinking a silver because it has a silver pin in the front of it but i'm not sure i want silver. what other colors would look good? also, it is a very shiny material, silky and stretchy. you know the material that most party dresses/ cocktail dresses are made out of.

navy blue suit, w/ black shoes?? and black tights?? i think that is a big no-no from any point of standard. i personally have a lavender color that i think it stunning on... and would suggest doing a color, that puts shine on your nails but isn't as noticed, as red, or navy blue, or black would be. i like the diamond wear, because it seems to wear better... they have glitter colors, and pale colors... i believe the color i am thinking of, is lavender envy. by sally henson, Xtreme wear brand. sutle colors look more professional than gaudy colors. best of luck to ya.

***** edit!!! today's fashion is slightly COLOR BLIND!!!! it looks tacky, and also looks like you got dressed in the dark. i would find some other complimentary colors... besides BLACK and BLUE. two worst colors to mix in any fashion. PERIOD.

I am getting a pedicure for prom, but I'm at a loss as to what color I should get. I'm also getting french manicure acrylics. This is the dress I'll be wearing:

French would look best. You don't want to take attention away from the dress by adding colour. Pink would be too gaudy, silver / white is overkill and black is not right at all. I think a french manicure on your toenails works well too. The dress is gorgeous, so fancy toenails would look bad. If you have a nice dress and keep your nails simple, but cute, they'll look fantastic.
Gorgeous dress !! Although I don't generally like bright colors on the fingers, I DO like bright colors on toenails, especially if you have pale skin, which can make the feet look rather anemic. Any classic bright color would be great, but I would tend to stay within the cool tones (for a gray dress) rather than earthy tones. Dark pink, fuschia, raisin etc.
I am in love with ur dress, i think a french manicure would look great, just the usual white tips and then clear over the top and your toes just a pale pink. You dont want anything that will detract attention from your stunning dress! Btw, is that you wearing it? If it is you'll look knockout at your prom! That's such a pretty dress! I think it is, but maybe check with your friend.

I think either the dark wine color or the gold would look nice, but if you went out and got a shimmery dark golden-brown, it would look great.

I would say to go with either the dark wine color or the dark purple. Nothing glitter or sheer because your dress is darker.

French mani for your fingers, black for your toes. Black would be hot. I recently have been obsessed with that color of nail polish-- although it only looks good when there are no chips, so paint a clear gloss over it every other day!

If I were you I would do a natural shine or a red. I just think a pink looks tacky too. Kind of like a 13-year-old makeover. Like back when you were younger and experimenting with make up! Do the natural shine or the red. =]

Fluro pink. Trust me. It will look amazing. Or maybe a red. But pink is more eye catching and AMAZING! Red is just ordinary but it will still look nice.
use a dark/deep red, a classic look but not a problem if you're worried about looking a bit slutty (but then I use bright red all the time lol)

If you're going to go for pink, use a neutral/dusty pink.

And those shoes are georgeous!

What color nail polish should I wear with both a black and a royal blue bridesmaids dress?

I am a bridesmaid in two weddings, two weeks apart. One dress is black, another is royal blue, and I am wearing open toe shoes with both of them. Neither bride has any preference about how we do our nails or makeup, so I'd like to get a pedicure once and wear the same color polish for both weddings. I plan to paint my fingernails myself with a matching color.

I was thinking that red would look best with those dresses, but then I realized that I would need to wear red lipstick to match (especially if I wore red finger nail polish). I'm rather pale and don't think I look good in red lipstick, and would prefer to wear a pink tone of lipstick. I suppose pink nail polish would look ok with both these dresses, but I still think red would look best. I don't want to do french tips because some of my toenails are short and I don't want to keep up a french manicure on my fingers.

Red would probably look good with both colors, and at the same time it might be a little bright for the pictures - probably safer to go with a more neutral tone, even if the red would look better. A pinkish or beige color should match both and not risk one of the brides saying, ';You painted your nails WHAT color?'; Some brides notice these things =D.

Go to Target and go to where they sell the nail polish, they should have a section for clear coats, but one of them is just for French Manicures. I am not sure what it is called. So check out your local target. Walgreen's also might have it, CVS, and Walmart.WHAT COLOR NAIL POLISH IS THIS?
the top shiny part is just a clear coat. you can buy any brand, anywhere. it's just called a clear polish.

When you get your nails done(acrylic tips), they apply acrylic liquid and powder. The liquid is purplish and they wipe the power and liquid on and then they airbrush the tips and apply the top liquid coat and that's all. if you want a pinkish tint try this:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d…
